Medicare made many changes to the enrollment process that went into effect on April 1 that you should be aware of. For example, Medicare now requires you to make any changes to your enrollment information within 30 days of the change otherwise you could have your billing privileges revoked. Together with the AMA and Medical Group Management Association (MGMA), they have developed a toolkit so that you and your staff can understand the changes and to try and make the enrollment or change to enrollment process as smooth as possible for you without cash flow interruption. And, Medicare now permits physicians and their staff to enroll or make changes online, information which is contained in this toolkit.
